How We Can Help
At CFPS, we are here to support you through life’s challenges, whether you need help keeping your family together, escaping a difficult or violent situation, or transitioning from institutional care as a care leaver in Sierra Leone.
Our programs are designed to provide the guidance, resources, and support you need to create a stable and empowered future.
Family Empowerment and Advocacy
Through, The Bridge, we’re here to help your family stay together. We provide financial support for school fees, uniforms, and other education expenses to ease the burden and reduce the risk of re-separation. Education is key to building a stable future, and we’re committed to ensuring your family has what it needs to thrive.
Separation Prevention
If you’re facing challenges that put your family at risk of separation, we’re here for you. Whether you’ve survived crises like the 2021 Wellington Tanker Explosion or the 2022 & 2023 Floods, or you’re simply struggling to keep your family together, we can help. We work with families referred by community organizations to provide the support and resources you need to keep your children safe and at home with you.
Careleaver Support
If you’ve aged out of institutional care, CFPS is here to support your journey into adulthood and independence. Since 2024, we’ve helped 21 young adults transition successfully by providing personalized support tailored to your needs.
Here’s how we can help you build a stable and independent future:
-
Educational Support: We cover tuition for careleavers in secondary school and university students
-
Housing Solutions: Whether you need a temporary place to stay or long-term housing, CFPS can help. We’ve housed careleavers in an interim care center and secured apartments for those attending local universities.
-
Psychosocial & Life Skills Development: Transitioning to independence can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. We offer group therapy, one-on-one counseling, and training in essential life skills like budgeting, cooking, and navigating housing.
